The Town of Ashland has launched a new art exhibit named “Art In Orbit.” This a new public art piece created to bring positive dynamic and beautiful art to a busy area and community space. This program was created to show local and regional artist creativity while also following besides the towns visual pleasures. As of May 7, 2026 there are a few art exhibits placed around the state of Virginia alone. One being “Adios, Mona Lisa” created by Jerry Peart. This piece is located at Ashland Police Department (601 England Street). Another piece names “Lean Forward to Go Forward” created by Chelsea Tinklenberg is located at 117 England Street. This piece explains highlights the balance between relationships and stability. It is inspired by a unicycle that shows you must lean forward past the darkness to move into the light. Moving forward reflects on individuals vulnerability and persistence in putting your best foot forward.

The “Art in Orbit” reflects on Ashland, Virginia’s commitment in allowing for a safe and welcoming place within their small town. As of right now, there will be around five specifically selected art pieces displayed throughout April 2027.
